Requirements

To apply, fill in the online application form and upload the requested documents (see below) and the payment of a deposit of €100. The remaining amount must be paid by bank transfer by 30 June 2023.

*The application is complete with the payment of the registration fee of 100 euros

 

How to apply

You can apply by filling in the online application form at https://fesztivalakademia.hu/en/masterclasses/

THE MATERIAL TO BE UPLOADED ON THE APPLICATION FORM:

  • Short CV in English.
  • Photo of the applicant (at least 600 dpi resolution).
  • Application videos uploaded as a YouTube links, including two works of your choice which can be solo, with piano or with orchestra
  • Proof of the payment (deposit) uploaded

ADDITIONAL MATERIAL TO BE UPLOADED IF APPLYING FOR A SCHOLARSHIP:

  • Scholarship application justification in pdf format in English (scholarships are available in relation to the fee of classes).
The application fee

 

Registration fee (deposit): 100 €
Application fee: 650 €
Extra class: 75 €/h
Extra piano accompaniment: 25 €/h
Passive applicant: 100 €
Discounted bed and breakfast price: 490 €*

The application fee includes

  • four individual lessons – 45 minutes – with the chosen master, of which one lesson with a piano accompanist provided by Festival Academy Budapest,
  • You can apply for two lessons with the same teacher,
  • at least one chamber orchestra performance with students of the Festival, conducted by an artist of the Festival Academy Budapest (leading by Barnabás Kelemen, Maxim Rysanov or Andreas Ottensammer),
  • the opportunity to perform at a matinee concert of the Festival Academy Budapest,
  • two folk and traditional gypsy music classes with leading Hungarian artists (Lajos Sárközy Jr – gypsy music, István Pál “Szalonna” – folk music)
  • a joint dinner at the Cafe Vian Restaurant during the festival with the participation of the artists and live Gypsy music
  • The application fee also includes free participation in the concerts of the Festival Academy Budapest, up to the limit of seats in the halls. (Accompanying students of the Masterclass can buy tickets to the festival programmes with a 50% discount).

*The discounted accommodation fee may change according to the rate of inflation.

By paying the registration fee of €100, you can participate as a passive student in all events during the 10 days of the masterclasses, depending on the availability of the evening concerts after registration, we are unable to refund the registration fee

Application fee (50mins classes): 80 €/ lesson
Dinner with the artists (compulsory): 200 €/person

  • four individual lessons – 60 minutes –  for which the Festival Academy Budapest provides a piano accompanist (tutor: Gabriella Gyökér). (The repertoire of the participants coming to the master class will be discussed individually with the artist Éva Marton until May 31)
  • András Almássy-Tóth’s stage movement and speech technique courses
  • A performance organized with the participation of the participants of the opera masterclasses in the Solti Hall of the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music
  • additional performance opportunities at the festival’s matinee concerts
  • a joint dinner at the Cafe Vian Restaurant during the festival with the participation of the artists and live Gypsy music
  • The application fee also includes free participation in the concerts of the Festival Academy Budapest, up to the limit of seats in the halls. (Accompanying students of the Masterclass can buy tickets to the festival programmes with a 50% discount).
