Knut Erik SundquistNOR

Barnabás Kelemen about Knut Erik Sundquist:

“He is an unbelievable character: if he was a piece of music, his performing instructions should read “molto capriccioso.” There is humour and irony behind every word he says, which can also be detected in his music making. Playing for him is truly that: playing; as soon as he discovers the opportunity for humour in a note of music, he will exploit it. My mother said that humour was very important: it triggers the musical imagination. Knut not only provides the musical base with their instrument, but he also determines the basic character of a production. He is a personality of extremes: he lives at the end of the world in the fiords, but organises festivals and teaches students, and his enthusiastic love for his family is an important part of his personality.”
