VI. Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition

The Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition was founded in 2017 by Katalin Kokas and Barnabás Kelemen for the youngest generation of violinists under the age of 22. The competitors are evaluated by an international jury consisting of renowned violinists and professors.

The video must include three pieces: two works of free choice. The selected pieces should represent different styles and characters. The works presented in the video may also be included in the competition programme.
PRELIMINARY ROUND
First movement of one of the following sonatas:
  • Ludwig van Beethoven: Violin Sonata in D major, Op. 12 No. 1
  • Ludwig van Beethoven: Violin Sonata in F major, Op. 24
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Violin Sonata in G major, K. 301
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Violin Sonata in E minor, K. 304
  • Franz Schubert: Violin Sonata in D major, D. 384
  • Franz Schubert: Violin Sonata in G minor, D. 408
AND
  • one freely chosen virtuoso piece
SEMIFINAL ROUND
The total duration of each competitor’s programme in this round must not exceed 25 minutes.
  • At least two movements from one of Georg Philipp Telemann’s Solo Fantasias

OR
  • One or two movements from a Partita or Solo Sonata by Johann Sebastian Bach

AND

  • The first or last movement of a freely chosen Romantic violin concerto
AND
  • Two contrasting Bartók Duos (upper part)

One of the following concertos, performed in full with chamber orchestra and without conductor:

AND
  • Two contrasting Bartók Duos (upper part)
