Anima Musicae Chamber OrchestraHUN

I remember inviting them to a rehearsal before I first played with them—I was preparing for a concert with a chamber orchestra made up of members of the Budapest Festival Orchestra—and when they arrived, I couldn’t pronounce their names; it was so embarrassing. This, of course, has no bearing on our great relationship. I have played several times with Anima since then; the way they play shows a perfect combination of enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism. They exhibit strong signs of János Rolla’s positive influence: it is wonderful to see that in addition to the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, there is another group from a younger generation which also represents this beautiful heritage. It further strengthens the personal relationship that the wife of the orchestra’s artistic director, László G. Horváth is none other than Kata Borsos, also a member of the orchestra, who was one of Kati’s first students at the Liszt Academy and other former students of ours also play in the orchestra. Anima Musicae deservedely received the title National Youth Orchestra.
